As an alternative to writing checks to place into the offering plate, your church is providing tools for you to give online (use the Give button above or point your browser to https://tithe.ly/give) or to give on your mobile device (using an app or by texting). See more details below and in this article. During your first use of these tools, you will be prompted to enter and save your donor information to make successive uses very easy and quick. As an example, texting 50 to (844) 919-3302 will send $50 to our church’s General Fund. You will receive “Thank You” emails after each donation. End-of-year reports will continue to be provided (the report will merge the online gifts with those placed into the offering plate).
Details of the process for giving via Tithe.ly:
Initial set-up: Click on the Give button, select Sign up, click on Create Account, fill in your name and email, create a password and PIN, submit. Done! You are now ready to Login and create a donation.
Features of making a donation: You have choices to specify what fund to give to (default is General), one-time or recurring (default) giving, and source (credit/debit or bank account). Also, you can choose to cover the processing fee (default; this increases your donation amount but maximizes your gift to the church). The menu icon allows you to review your recent giving, make changes in your account settings and to logout. A video of how to make a donation can be viewed here.
Mobile app: Download the Tithe.ly mobile giving app to your smartphone from the app store (Android https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ly.tithe.tithely&hl=en or iOS https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tithe.ly/id694740700?mt=8 )
After opening the app, create your account and then select our church (find it based on the phone’s location when you are at church or by searching on “First Baptist Church of Marion”. Now you are ready to give through the app in the same manner as for online giving through the church website. More details are provided here.
